Our Story
At Little Spoon Farm, our journey began with a simple desire: to improve the local food system by forging connections between farmers, nature, and consumers.
The name Little Spoon embodies our mission. This humble tool symbolizes our commitment to delivering nourishment to those we care about. Through regenerative farming practices, we cultivate food while revitalizing the environment and fostering a community grounded in sustainable principles, within the modern food landscape.
Our Vision
We aspire to be the foremost hub for regenerative farming, fostering a resilient local food system and addressing environmental and social challenges through community collaboration.
We are committed to aiming for the UN Sustainable Development Goals No. 12, which focuses on Responsible Consumption and Production.
Our Mission
- We aim to provide safe, transparent, and nutritious sustainable food for our local community. Our goal is to offer consumers organically grown, fresh local crops that rival imported goods in quality, while requiring fewer fossil fuels and being grown sustainably.
- We strive to create both online and offline platforms that facilitate direct connections and access between all stakeholders in the food chain, including nature, rural farmers, food academics, and consumers.
- We are dedicated to establishing a cooperative (Co-Op) based on community principles, where knowledge, training, tools, and marketplaces can be shared among many rather than privatized. Our commitment lies in creating more opportunities for local farmers to transition from conventional to regenerative practices securely and increasing job opportunities for locals to participate in the restorative food system.
- We optimize our farm processing center, also known as the farm kitchen food hub, to address food waste and loss issues by increasing the value of surplus harvest or products unfit for fresh sales. We achieve this by processing them at their peak quality using preservation techniques such as freezing, fermenting, curing, and drying.
- We establish shared farm administration and management systems to optimize the production of smallholder Indonesian farmers, the majority of whom live in poverty and cannot afford to grow organically.
- Our mission also encompasses environmental restoration and conservation through sustainable food production and consumption, ensuring a better future for generations to come.
